Williamstown Crane Hire was established in 1987 by sole owner/director Gilbert McKay.

Commencing operation with one crane, the company completed its 20th year growing to a fleet of 19 cranes with an average machine age of 4 years establishing a profile as one of the most modern and diverse crane hire companies in the state. The acquisition of Eastside Crane Hire in late 2007 has added a further 11 cranes, many of which now have been updated reducing the fleet age in Geelong to 8 years as opposed to 13 years at the date of acquisition.
